Juanma Lorenzo

Juanma Lorenzo is a visual multifaceted artist born in the Canary Islands, Spain. His Art studio is in Tenerife. From a very young age he started exhibiting individually. He was selected to participate in the biennials in Venezuela and Spain, and was acrredited awards in the painting and drawing categories.  He has exhibited his work in the United States, Spain and France, and participated in the International Contemporary Art Fair in Paris. His artwork can be found in numerous Private Art Collections in Spain, Venezuela, Argentina, Thailand, South Africa, South Korea and the United States.

Juanma Lorenzo’s artwork distinguishes itself mainly through the materials used in his collage inspired work: a wide variety of torn pieces of intervened paper glued to treated, painted plywood, that becomes a wall. The wall, a source of inspiration in his work, is always present not only as a surface and means of expression, but as a limit, as an obstacle to overcome. His work is based on construction and deconstruction, as well is in movement. The central idea of his work emerges from the concept of impermanence. This term communicates the Buddhist idea that all that exists is conditioned, without exception, and is thus subject to change.

Plasticity in his mixed-media artwork is achieved through the use of paper, latex, water, pigments, acrylic paint, oil, linen, wood, spray, plaster, paper, cement, etc. His artwork upholds its own language that is coherent with the narrative and deep content of the story it tells.

Liz Contag Art is pleased to represent artist Juanma Lorenzo with exclusivity in the Pacific Northwest.
